Friday Night Gathering & Games

Meet local fishermen familiar with Hebgen Lake along with nationally ranked ice fishermen. A Social Hour and informal introductory information for people new to ice fishing—and networking with experienced friends who love to ice fish–starts at 5 pm at West Yellowstone Holiday Inn Conference Center (315 Yellowstone Avenue). From there, people go in groups with a pro-fisherman to another local restaurant/tavern to “talk ice fishing” over dinner, where “Ice Fishermen Specials” will be available for purchase. These group discussions, which are open to the public, are geared toward educating fishers to the world of tournament ice fishing.

Saturday – January 14, 2017

Saturday Kids Ice Camp

The Kids Ice Camp is held at Kirkwood Resort & Marina.  There will be two different starting times. The first group begins at 11:00 AM with Boathouse classroom instruction and demonstration of ice fishing equipment, techniques, and safety, conservation & environmental stewardship. Then, everyone heads out onto the ice for demonstrations delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors. A second group will start the Boathouse classroom at noon, followed by the on-ice experience.

A free hot lunch will be served from 11:30-12:30 to all kids who participate in the camp. Before leaving, all kids who participate also will receive a complimentary ice rod and tackle.

Make sure to dress warmly including waterproof footwear for this outside event. Parents must accompany their kids during this event. It is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather.

Saturday Night Mandatory Rules Meeting

Registration for the Tournament runs from 4:30-6:45 pm at the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone, where the Social Hour begins at 5:00 pm, including a complimentary dinner for all registered team members, with cash bar and Montana spirit tastings available.

At 6:00 pm, there will be a Presentation by nationally-ranked ice fishermen geared toward educating fishers to the world of tournament ice fishing and the newest products in the industry.

The Rules Meeting, which is mandatory for at least one member of each team, starts at 7 pm. At the Rules Meeting, the exact starting time for the contest the following morning will be announced.

Don’t miss the Annual Calcutta Fundraiser where you buy your favorite teams–and split the prize pot if they win!

The other half of the Calcutta money pool goes to the non-profit West Yellowstone Foundation to add to its grants to the community throughout the year.
