Here we go! Round 1

Braselton, GA (April 15, 2018)

One Fifth, One Fourth, One Crash, and One Gremlin.  That was the essence of the inaugural race for the Quicksilver LEXIN Hudson Motorcycle Racing Team in MotoAmerica’s Round 1 at Road Atlanta.

Our Superbike hero, Bobby Fong, had a strong first day by placing just off the podium at fourth.  After riding for two years with his Quicksilver Latus Kawasaki Racing Team, it was his first official race on a Yamaha with his new Quicksilver Lexin Hudson Racing Team.  All things considered, this was a great outcome.  Bobby will almost certainly get stronger as the new team finds its groove.  Day two, however, saw a visit by water gremlins that plagued the Superbike on a super soaked Sunday.  Shortly before the race was to begin, the bike was having issues and the team never made it to the grid.

On the Supersport side of things, our newest friend Richie Escalante looked very strong with his new team.  On day one, Richie was right in the mix of things but unfortunately crashed along with multitudes of others that weekend. On the wildly wet day two, Mr. Escalante finished a respectable fifth in a fantastically crowded field of strong racers.  There were 30 entrants in the Supersport class this weekend and it looks as though the series will be a dramatic one this year.
