Grass Roots racing on the Flat Track. Quicksilver’s Kaley Johnson Checks In.
Hello Q Crew! Just wanted to send an update over from the recent races in Canada. My racing season is finally starting to pick up some speed after getting off to such a slow start. The Leamington Half Mile in Ontario was a pretty good day for me. I ended up with a podium at 3rd in the Intermediate DTX class and took 10th in the Intermediate Open class. That was a bit of a disappointment, but I had a little mishap and crashed in my open heat which put me on the back row for the main event start. Working my way through the field from last to 10th was a challenge! We did not end up racing in Wheatley, Ontario on Sunday because my brother’s bike broke on Saturday and my hand was really swollen, sore, and bruised from crashing in my heat at Leamington. So the Team decided to head for home instead. Overall I had a great time across the border in Canada for the weekend!
I also made a quick trip over to the other side of Michigan to a race at the Ogemaw Bike Week flat track race. We had a great night of racing and I won my heat and ended up 3rd in the main event!
We had a last minute change in plans for this weekend and instead of going to Ashland, OH, I will be going to the Donnie Bargmann memorial race at Pekin Motorcycle Club in Pekin, IL. We’ve heard from a couple people at the track and they had really good things to say about it. I will get back to you after this weekend and let you know how it goes!
Hope everything is going well with the my teammates and everyone else at QCREW, and I can’t thank you all enough for the continued support this season.
