Gettin’ Muddy

Haydays 2017 – North Branch, MN

For the first time ever, Quicksilver gets muddy in Terracross Racing. Here is a wrap up of Round 1.

“Round 1 of Terracross in Minnesota was awesome!

We showed up to see a dozen other X-Games superstars, many medalists, some of the Nitro Circus crew and various accomplished champions at riders meeting, all ready to race together.

Darrin did a ride along with last year’s champ – Jason Luburgh to start the day off for media and to get used to the track!

In the first seeded practice – Darrin earned the #1 fastest lap time in his class and #2 out of all the classes! He lined up as # 1 qualifier the next day, giving him a great interview spot with CBS Sports and MAV TV leading right in to the program!

Darrin’s Razor unfortunately broke in the first race.  In the second race it broke again, but they managed to get him back on the track in time for the half way pit stop. Then he and another driver got in to each other off a jump face on one of the steepest sections of the track. It sent Darrin end over end, several times, for a pretty scary crash! They red flagged the race for safety and got him up. His razor couldn’t return and he was sore but okay. The crash will definitely be seen in TV highlights, so you won’t miss it if you watch!

Darrin then had one race left for the day, in which he lined up as number one qualifier again, this time beside Jolene VanVugt. The crowd and media was loving the mix up of big names from many different areas of action sports, it was very cool to see!

Darrin ended up with a hard earned 3rd place podium. Georgia Albertson interviewed him for CBS several times, as well as the other media outlets on site.  We had lots of exposure for all of our sponsors, which made us very happy!

We are sure after this round that we want to aim for the full series next year. This industry is growing rapidly and it gives us a great year round outlet for our sponsors, additional to Snowbike/ Winter X Games! Travis Pastrana posted about Terracross this weekend to his 2.5 Million followers on instagram and there are many more big names getting involved.  This series, over any other series, provides such great live entertainment, prime TV coverage and represents each athlete’s sponsors in a unique way. We are thrilled to have been invited to the opportunity!

Thank you very much for the opportunity to represent you. We are super excited about the new relationship! We decided we are going to try to gain another sponsor to help get to the next round if possible, to represent Skull Candy and Quicksilver there as well. Either way, Josh Herrin will be in North Carolina in the Quicksilver- Skull Candy Razor!

Thanks and gratitude for the support!”
