Seca Foresake Us
It can’t always be rainbows & unicorns for the Q Crew.
The 8th and penultimate round of the MotoAmerica race series held at the mythical Laguna Seca race track in California proved to be something straight out of a Brother’s Grimm fairy tale and NOT a Disney fairy tale as we had hoped. Race One looked promising for the Quicksilver Latus Racing Kawasaki Team. The race was a fantastic battle with an untold number of place changes up front. Ultimately there were less than two seconds separating the first place finisher, Danny Eslick, from the 5 place finisher, Bobby Fong. Now THAT is racing!
Then the fun ended. Fong crashed out of Race Two, thankfully he’s OK. David Anthony DNF’ed. This is Bobby’s first crash of the season and David has been plagued by gremlins all season long. The track is a man eater and she took her fair share of victims this weekend; with no less than a half-dozen riders being taken out, including another Q Crew rider, Jason Aguilar, in the Super Stock 600 class.
But everyone on our team walked away, and that in itself is a win. Bobby remains in the top 3 with only one race weekend to go.
Super Stock 1000 championship standings (pre-lim as of July 10):
