Coldest Fishing Temps in NAIFC History
With current weather headlines like “Coldest Temps Ever Recorded in All 50 States” and “Coldest Artic Outbreak in a Generation” many people are being exposed to conditions that competitors of the North American Ice Fishing Circuit (NAIFC) face every year.
Last weekend on Lake Redstone near Wisconsin Dells, WI the NAIFC competitors and their machines went about their business in temperatures ranging from -20 F or below as this dash thermometer shows. Even with the best cold weather clothing and a semi-enclosed, windshield equipped UTV the weather can be taxing.
Competitors typically arrive two or three days in advance of the event to “learn the lake” and try to find out where the fish are. Teammates Bill and Phil have fished the NAIFC for several years and count on Quicksilver fuel care and oils to get them through the season and, have helped them qualify for and reach the NAIFC Championship.
Sunday morning found 31, two-person teams at the starting line waiting to take off on the 605 acre, 36 foot deep lake. Watch and listen to the video to see and hear the mechanized field of NAIFC competitors motor off to seek their success. Equipment dependability is paramount for getting these competitors started and being the first to arrive at the favored fishing location to begin the day. Quicksilver products can help ensure that you won’t be the owner of the ATV that made it to the starting line-up but no further than that.
At the end of the day, inside the warm surroundings of an event host business, everyone found out that 29 of the 31 teams caught their limit of fish and that less than .13 of a pound separated 1st and 3rd place. Even though you may not face the harsh conditions that competitors of the NAIFC do, Quicksilver products will help ensure you maximize the time you spend using and enjoying your powersports equipment.
