Because Portage is for Canoes – Mud Buddy

We have powerboats for a reason! Multiple reasons, actually, but at least one of those reasons is an aversion to oars.

Is there a muddy shoal between where you are and where you want to be? Need to retrieve your decoys or an errant fishing lure from very shallow water? Or maybe you just like playing in the mud?

Enter Mud Buddy. The company produces four models of “backwater travel” propulsion systems and without even studying the details carefully we’ve picked our favorite. Who can resist a propulsion system named “Black Death?”

These engine and drive systems have to stand up to some real serious punishment.  For this reason Mud Buddy turned to Mercury Marine for specially purposed tilt and trim systems as well as the specifically engineered propeller designed for power transmission and durability in the water – no matter how ‘thick’ it gets.
