Where the Road Ends: From Four to Three

February 19, 2018: We filmed this on our way to Medellin, Colombia yesterday. For those wondering why only three bikes: Rich made the hard decision to fly home to Alaska since his KLR did not make it through the Darien Gap. While he will be sorely missed, the three remaining KLRs are very happy to be back on the road! #advlife #colombia #hellotrouble REV’IT! Dunlop Motorcycle Tires Quicksilver Products

February 21, 2018: Colombia sure has some beautiful places. Simon got pretty emotional about it and composed an original song. Too bad we didn’t get it on video…oh wait!

Anyway, thanks so much to Paul and Yvette for inviting us out to their hostel Steel Horse Finca Filandia! It’s in the heart of Colombia’s coffee country and it’s very much a word-of-mouth gem. Be sure to stop in if you’re riding through Colombia.

February 22, 2018: Last night we experienced some pretty crazy delays crossing the border from Colombia to Ecuador.

A lot of people have been fleeing the deteriorating economic situation in Venezuela and heading South to find work in Peru, Chile, and Argentina. The mini-exodus has put a lot of strain on Colombia’s border crossings which are not set up to handle thousands of people a day. We were lucky enough to get through in one day, but some of the people we talked to were on their second day.
